Here you can find out information, the
setup history, and fatal
problems of my 65G Fish+Reef tank. You may also find some
useful products and tools that will benefit you when you
setup a reef system. I started my reef tank in January
1996, and was faced with many problems. I will share some
of them with you on this page.
Please
be aware that improper reef keeping practices could
accelerate the destruction of the
natural reef environment, especially if reefkeepers
replace dead corals again and again without improving the
tank conditions. A coral may need a hundred years to grow
but it may be killed within
a day if you place in an inadequate tank. Improper
temperature, pH or pollution will kill corals immediately.
You must ensure that you can offer the best water
conditions and lots of your time for a reef tank,
otherwise a fish-only tank is a better choice. Once you
have had a reef tank running successfully, you will know
why environment protection is so important. The corals
will be killed under any atmospheric or oceanic pollution. We love our hobby,
but at the same time the Earth needs our love too.
